Is it possible to cheat the iCup test by substituting or adulterating the specimen?

No. The iCup contains a specimen validity test or SVT strip that verifies the validity of a specimen. The SVT strip checks for oxidants, specific gravity and pH in the specimen. For example, if someone tries to substitute water for urine, the specific gravity indicator will show an abnormal reading.

How do the alcohol tests work?

The Express Check™ Breath Alcohol Test offers users a simple, convenient method to detect alcohol use and to estimate levels of alcohol intoxication. The Express Check™ Breath Alcohol Test uses chemical alcohol detection technology with 50 years of proven success in law enforcement and corrections. To perform a test with the Express Check™ Breath Alcohol Test, the user squeezes the tube to crush the ampoule in the test, and then blows into the appropriate end of the test for 12 seconds. Yellow crystals remain unchanged if alcohol is not present at the test's threshold. Alcohol in the breath turns yellow crystals to a pale blue or green colour within two minutes if the concentration meets or exceeds the test's threshold.

What are the advantages of using our alcohol tests?

  • Compact, plastic tube construction allows test to be carried anywhere
  • Pass/fail design detects alcohol at different threshold levels
  • Available in three threshold levels - .02%, .04%, and .08%

Do I need to send samples back to a lab for analysis?

No - samples do not need to be sent back to a lab. This is a home test kit that will give you a result a few minutes after blowing into the tube.

How long does it take to get a result?

What are the important things to look for in a testing company?

There are several DNA testing companies offering what look like very cheap tests, however, NOT ALL DNA TESTS ARE OF EQUAL QUALITY. To avoid getting an incorrect result from your test which could have devastating consequences, always ensure the following:

  • The testing company is fully accredited, preferably by international accreditation bodies such as the AABB, ISO 17025, and NATA. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025 is the world standard in the certification of competence of testing and calibration of medical diagnostic laboratories. ISO 17025 certification ensures a high level of competence and compliance for the certified laboratory, ensuring that testing is undertaken by professionals. The AABB also certifies laboratories, and runs a accreditation programme specifically for high competence levels in parentage testing. Nimble Diagnostics' lab is accredited by both bodies.
  • Many companies have hidden costs. They will lure you in with the promise of a cheap test, then charge you extra for shipping, for rapid results, or even to provide a copy of the results. Nimble Diagnostics guarantees that you will pay NO MORE than the advertised price - shipping of the test kit, results, and testing is all included.
